Mehbooba condemns Modi's communal utterances

Early Times Report
Srinagar, December 17 – Cautioning the people against the latest divisive and communal utterance of BJP leaders like Nareinder Modi, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has said that Modi's latest utterances that the future Kashmir policy would be governed and guided by Jammu is a recipe for disaster.
In a statement issued here today, the PDP Chief said by making such statements the wholesale trader of hatred and anti-Muslim terror of the Sangh Parivar – Narender Modi - has exposed the real designs of right-wing communalists.
The best response, Mehbooba said, to such threats would be for all the right thinking people of the State to unite against this new intrigue hatched by the Sangh Parivar in collaboration with their local allies in Kashmir. She said Kashmiris are no more the dumb-driven cattle who could be unaware of their interests and know how to safeguard their interests. This they have made amply clear this summer's peaceful expression of anger against the Amarnath land grab.
Mehbooba said, Narender Modi has been pressed into service by the BJP, to carry forward the politics of hate he executed in his Gujarat state where he murdered thousands of innocent Muslims and marginalized the rest. If he is under the impression that Kashmir is still represented by the people who were once his allies and of late turned admirers of his 'good governance' is under a wrong impression. The State has got a new and strong political voice in the shape of PDP that would never allow the majority sentiment of the State to go unrepresented.
Mehbooba said PDP is a firm believer of an equitable right for all stake-holders of the State in accordance with their ratio. This, she said, is the basis of the Self-Rule proposal. She said it will be a sad day if the agenda of people like Modi were to be implemented in this country, but J&K, would in no case allow that happen.
The PDP chief said the efforts of the BJP to dilute further the Article 370 would be firmly resisted by the people of the State. She said the threat held by Rajnath Singh in Jammu that his party would scrap the Article 370 could never come true. In fact the reverse will happen, if the PDP gets a full majority. The sanctity of the Article 370 will be fully restored to meet the objectives of Self-Rule, she said.
