FoSTaC workshop under Eat Right Challenge 2 held

Kishtwar, Oct 10: Today at Kishtwar under Eat Right Challenge 2 a special workshop of FoSTaC(Food Safety Training and Certifcation) conducted by Food Safety DFCO, Kishtwar in accordance with the guidelines enumerated from FSSAI, expediated by Commissioner ,FDA ,j&k and under moral support of District Magistrate Kishtwar. This FoSTaC training workship was venued at Conference Hall DC Administration HQ Kishtwar and the inaugurated by the Sh.Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda (Adjudicating Officer FSSA District Kishtwar)The team of Food Safety DFCO ,Kishtwar led by Taraq Ahmad Butt, Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety ,District kishtwar organised FoSTaC under Eat Right Challenge initiated by FSSAI & this particular workshop was organised in collaboration the empanelled Training partners NESSWO ( National Education Society and Social Welfare Organisation) & during the workshop the participants including Food business operators-Hoteliers, Restaurant dealers,Sweet shopkeepers,Meat & meat product vendors, retailers,wholesaker distributors backery operators, milk and milk product venors,Caterers ,Street Food vendors ,saffron & walnut dealers,manufacturers, Food packers ,processors and the traders of Food Industry from different sectors were imparted with Training through power point presentations and detailed lectures /Vocal training was given by the Organisers of NESSWO and the Enforcement Officers of the Department especially Sh.Taraq Ahmad Butt Assistant Commissioner Food Safety DFCO Kishtwar and his team made elaborations at broader level with the max.coverage to the subject in the interest of Food Bussiness Operators. This initiative of Eat Right challenge included Basic course and for the same reason and exposure brouchers ,pamphlets and training material informativematerial were distributed among the participants. .As a matter of fact,there are 16 courses in three levels -Basic, advance & special .To create best Food Safety Ecosystem FoSTaC has been termed as Mandotary and persons successfully trained shall be called Food Safety supervisors who in turn will train other Food Handlers .
FoSTaC has been designed by FSSAI to fullfill its mandate under section 16(3) of FSSA 2006 .This Training is develope skill & technology to make Food Industry more efficient and adulteration & risk free, it was also explored that this requirement is proppsed to be made mandatory in a phased manner .During the training purpose of Hygienic and sanitary practices were imparted by the wake of Demonstartions .FoSTaC is to maximise the knowledge and awareness of Food Safety Regulations and polices to ensure Food safety and Hygiene. It was also pronouned that it will be in perpitual manner and apprised that the Curriculum and contents for the training have been created Centrally. Expressing concern over the implemention of Eat Right challenges & its benefits to the public in General including wellness,social behavior & exploration of theme to the society through staff members reg.the dietic concept /slogan Tora kum tail,chini aur NamakEat Right, Eat Healthy and Eat Fortified.In this FoSTaC training program more than 150 registered Food Operators participated and
Overall the objectives of the FoSTaC were elaborated which incluslively listed to bring behavioural changes and inculcating to culture of Food Safety across the District and to create improved environment of Self Compliance to Food Safety and Standards.At the end of the workshop pledge were undertaken to follow the Food Safety Act,Rules,Regulations and another Pledge was taken for Nasha Mukt Bharat. And more importantly, a pledge to Save trees ,plant trees was taken with zest & enthusiasm with commitment.
