| Congress will gain thumping majority: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 17- Claiming that his party would return to power with thumping majority, Congress leader and contesting candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency, Raman Bhalla has said that it was the two and a half year performance of his party which would prompt the people to support it for prosperity and peace.
Addressing series of election rallies across his constituency, Raman Bhalla said that it was never going to be painless for his party to provide transparent governance to people of state at a time when previous dispensations had completely failed to provide some sort of relief to the masses of the state.
He said that his party has always strengthened the secular fabric of society and would continue to do so in the future as well for prosperity and development, he added.
He further said that it was the result of the policies of his party that the state has returned on the track of normalcy which has paved the way for developing the state in every respect.
“It is the change in the situation as a result of progress and development during last two and half years of Congress regime which has prompted the masses of the state to come out of their homes and caste votes even in chilling cold,” he said and added that never during any elections after 1990 such curiosity of casting the votes was seen among the people.
Urging the people to support his party, he said that congress was the only capable political force which could address problems of all the sections of society without any discrimination.
