Jammu, Dec 17- Holding Congress and National Conference responsible for not implementing the 15 per cent reservation quota in Jammu and Kashmir as provided in rest of the country, BJP Anusuchit Jaati Morcha National Secretary Rajesh Bhaga, Member National Executive Bansi Lal Bharti, Morcha President Narsingh Dass Rajwal and General Secretary Adarsh Bhagat, today assured that if voted to power, the BJP would bring the state of Jammu and Kashmir under the jurisdiction of National Commission for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe
Jointly addressing a press conference here today, the AJM leaders said that the party would construct hostels for the students of Scheduled Caste community of far flung areas of the state, on the pattern of Gujjar hostels and would launch a scheme to provide financial help up to Rs. one lakh for the marriage of girls belonging to Scheduled caste and other economically weaker sections of the society.
Regretting that instead of implementing the 15 per cent reservation quota, the state government reduced the reservation quota through a controversial SRO 294.
BJP Anusuchit Jaati Morcha strongly opposed the SRO 294 diminishing the interest of Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and OBC. This act of Congress has unveiled the actual face of Congress which is against socially, economically and educationally weaker section, they added.
Others present on the occasion were Ashok Gandhi, Krishan Bedi, President BJP SC Morcha Haryana.
