DDC Reasi listens to public issues in Kanjli village
Encourages farmers to form self help groups

REASI, Oct 12: In continuation to the weekly public outreach program, District Development Commissioner, Babila Rakwal today chaired Block Diwas proceedings here at Kanjli village, of block Katra.
On the occasion, District Development Council Member Katra, Nirmala Devi and several other PRI members also participated and voiced the issues and concerns of the locals.
Among the issues highlighted by the DDC member, the prominent were extension of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme to left out eligible households and issuing of fresh ration cards. She also demanded construction of a milk storage centre, Higher Secondary School and a road between Devamai and Kanjli villages.
Other PRI members also raised issues like the construction of a new building for Government Middle School Chapanoo and opening of Anganwadi units in certain wards.
The DDC patiently listened to the demands and assured appropriate redressal. She also apprised the public and their representatives about developments already sanctioned and scheduled for the area.
It was informed that a new irrigation project would be planned within a week and a road from Bamyal to Devamai is ready to be opened for the public. A sanitary complex is being constructed in the area as per the local demand. She also informed that a Rural Haat is being considered for Mata Ohli Mandir.
The DDC took note of the need for improved road connectivity to Higher Secondary School Gundla, and assured that a proposal would be sent to the appropriate authorities shortly. Similarly, for the development of a milk village, formation of a self help group would be encouraged, she informed.
During the programme, the DC along with Executive Engineer JPDCL Reasi, Sunil Dutt Pandoh educated the electricity consumers regarding the benefits of Amnesty Scheme for Domestic consumers 2022 and also distributed the Amnesty bills to the beneficiaries. The consumers were advised to pay current as well as amnesty bills regularly to avail the benefits of the amnesty scheme. Senior district officers, ACD Dr Anirudh Rai , XEN PDD , CHO , CAO , PRIs besides locals participated in the meeting
