KVK organizes Special Swachhta campaign

REASI, Oct 12: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised Special Swachhata Campaign here today at KVK, Reasi campus which was attended by KVK officials and local people. The cleanliness derive was organised under the dynamic stewardship of Vice Chancellor, Prof.JP Sharma and able guidance of Director Extension, Prof.SK Gupta of SKUAST-J. The major objective of the campaign was to educate the masses about the cleanliness derive in every nook and corner and involve more and more people in this national campaign so that the different areas can be made neat and clean. During the campaign the KVK lawn, farm machinery, crop cafeteria, hydroponics unit, office buildings, hatchery unit, vermibed unit, training hall, library, toilets etc. of the KVK were cleaned. The month long campaign was commenced from 2nd of Oct. and will be continued till 31st of Oct. Sr.Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr. Banarsi Lal led the campaign for cleanliness drive and urged the participants to be a part of Swachhat Bharat Abhiyan. He said that this campaign is India's biggest cleanness drive which was formally launched by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narinder Modi on 2nd of October 2014.He urged participants to consistently keep cleaning their premises. He said that Swachhata campaign is a flagship programme of the Government of India to clean the vicinities so that the national drive of clean India can be made successful. He spoke on the cleanliness and hygienic conditions required for a healthy life. He said that there is need to aware more and more people on sanitation and suggested the participants to keep their villages, campuses, temples etc. clean and green .He also emphasized on the cleaning of drinking water areas, toilets, crop fields etc. He narrated that this campaign can reduce disease infestation in human beings, animals and crops. He appealed the participants to make Swacchata a habit in their daily routine whether it is home, office, neighbourhood etc. so that the sacred Swachhata Mission can be made successful. Dr. Arvinder Kumar, Dr.Lobzang Stanzen, Manohar Lal, Preeti Choudhary and others were also present during the campaign.
