NYK organises Clean India campaign 2.0

UDHAMPUR, Oct 12: Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India organised cleanliness and plastic eradication drive in Community Health centre, Chenani as part of ongoing Clean India campaign 2.0. The cleanliness drive was aimed at creating an atmosphere of Swachhta and Shramdaan and giving a message of exterminating single use plastic. The drive was conducted by National Youth Volunteers Jyoti Sharma and Shallu Devi in which Block Medical Officer Chenani Balkar Lal Choudhary engaged the entire staff in the cleanliness and sanitation drive. He urged the public to adopt cleanliness in their behavior considering the world as one family and Swachhta as its religion. Supervisor of the CHC, Vikram Chandail also remained present and sensitized the general public about cleanliness and hygiene at work place and surrounding areas.
It is pertinent to mention that the Clean India 2.0 campaign was launched by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur from Prayagraj on 1st October after which Nehru Yuva Kendras across the nation are engaged in the month long cleanliness drive. Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur has been able to eradicate 6000 Kilo Grams of plastic till date through National Youth Volunteers and Youth Clubs in different villages. It will be carried on up to 31st October in a mission mode during which Swachhta pledges will be taken along with the messages of discouraging Open Defecation and open littering. The National Youth Volunteers are focused on involving all the stakeholders in the month long campaign.
