Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Oct 13: On the directions of the District Election Officer Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, the District Election Authority, in collaboration with District Information Centre, today organised a series of awareness activities including nukkad Nataks across the district.
The events were organised under the aegis of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Program at Shadra Sharief, GDC Thanamandi and GDC Rajouri.
The programs were organised with an aim to encourage the eligible persons to register as voters and reach out to the new voters for their enrollment in electoral rolls to make them able to take part in the democratic process.
During the events, the participants were educated about various aspects of being a voter and age specific students (who have attained the 18 yrs of age as on 1st Oct 2022) were urged to enroll themselves in the Electoral list.
They were also apprised about the importance of participation in the electoral process and the special focus was given on the first-time voters who became eligible by attaining the age of 18 years.
The participants were also urged to motivate all eligible persons to participate in the electoral process and help in maximizing the enrollment of all eligible persons of the district as voters.
Under SVEEP, the target is to ensure systematic enrolment of qualified voters and ensure maximum participation of already enrolled voters.
It is pertinent to mention here that special awareness camps are being organized throughout the district under special summary revision to motivate, aware, and enroll the new voters who have attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date.
