| Sidhu disappoints Jammuties; fails to turn up for election rally | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 17-Famous humorist, television star and BJP MP, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Wednesday disappointed people of Jammu when his scheduled programme was abruptly cancelled.
According to the information made available by the BJP press secretary Balbir Ram, BJP MP from Amritsar Sidhu was scheduled to address a public meeting in Dusherra ground in Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency but last minute changes in his schedule resulted in cancellation of the visit.
The senior BJP leaders when conveyed this message to their supporters they were disappointed too.
The workers were in the field and spreading the word about Sidhu’s schedule visit. According to the original plan Sidhu was to reach Jammu around 9.30 a.m and after taking some rest in his hotel room, few meetings with party workers and state party leaders were fixed.
After attending these meetings and having lunch Sidhu was expected to address election meetings including one at Dusshera ground for which preparations were going on when news of cancellation of the programme was conveyed by Sidhu to BJP leaders in Jammu. BJP had organized election rally in Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment to woo large number of Sikh voters in the area.
