Tackling Drone Threat
10/13/2022 11:44:50 PM

The security forces during the first nine months of this year have observed the entry of 191 Pakistan-controlled drones into Indian territory. Some drones were shot down while some managed to return.
Infiltration of drones, originating from Pakistan, has emerged as a major concern in terms of internal security of the country. These drones have been spotted in border areas of Punjab and Jammu region and most of the time these have been used to drop arms and narcotics.
Pakistan is finding it hard to push in terrorists into this side due to robust counter-infiltration grid being in place along the borders in Punjab and J&K. To keep the pot boiling the neighbouring country is dropping arms for terrorists through drones.
Recently, Punjab Police busted a cross-border drone-based arms smuggling module. Five men were arrested and a huge cache of sophisticated arms and ammunition were also recovered from them.
The security forces are facing multiple challenges. Besides fighting terrorism they are keeping a watch on smuggling of arms and ammunition through drones. They are giving a befitting reply to the terrorists and the handlers by foiling their designs.
During the past three years security forces have launched a massive counter offensive the terrorism in J&K and they have succeeded in smashing the terror networks. However, it has been observed that terrorist handlers sitting in Pakistan are trying to use the Punjab border for keeping the terror alive.
The drones are dropping the arms and ammunition near the border and the criminals hired by the terrorist handlers pick up these consignments and deliver these to the terrorists and their accomplices. The drones are dropping cash as well as narcotics.
Pakistan is not ready to mend its ways and wants to keep on fighting the 3-decade old proxy war despite losing it. The security agencies are aware about the nefarious designs of the neighbouring country and they are ensuring that terrorists are kept at bay and the ones who are acting as agents of Pakistan by facilitating the consignments of arms and drugs are identified and booked.
One thing is for sure that Pakistan will never change and would keep on looking for ways and means to foment trouble. It seems that the time has come to take a final action against the terrorists and their bosses sitting in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
