NC promises OBC status to Jats
Party to get absolute majority: Omar

Jammu Dec 17- Asserting that National Conference would form a stable one party government in the state, Omar Abdullah President J&K National Conference, while addressing a series of public meetings at Jogwan, Dhablehar, Bishnah, Marh, Chowadi, Sidhra and Transport Nagar, said the era of coalition is over in the state and people have rejected the coalition partners in the ensuing elections. He said that at the end of the sixth phase of election he had no doubt in his mind that National Conference will get absolute majority and form a stable government.
Omar said the National Conference government will work for the equitable development of all the three regions of the state and the sub regions thereof to usher a new era of unprecedented development and growth. He said the new National Conference government will have a special focus on the employment of the unemployed youth of the state and shall work to create new avenues of employment besides filling the existing vacant posts in the government departments.
Promising OBC status for the Jat community, the NC chief said that the pending list of recruitment to IRP and other police battalions will also be released immediately after the party forms the government. He also promised that the National Conference government will strengthen the extension effort in the Agriculture sector and in this endeavor; he said the party will constitute a Kissan Advisory Board.
Omar also promised lowering the qualification bar for appointment of constables in Police department and Class IV category from matric to middle and said that the party immediately after coming to power will re-start the process of recruitment of youth in the Police department by sending the Director General of Police to remote areas. He also reiterated the commitment of the party for providing stipend to the unemployed youth of the state till they are suitably employed.
Ajay Sadhotra, Ajatshatru Singh, Tarlochan Singh Wazir, Taranjeet Singh Tony, Mohan Lal, Somnath Manyal and Yashpal Bhagat also addressed these gatherings.
