Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 14: Govt Pharmacist Association organized a press conference under the presidentship of Sushil Sudan in the office of Federation, DHS Complex Jammu to shown strongly resentment regarding placement of Govt in service Pharmacists at PMB Jan Aushadhi Kendra vide DHS order no DHS/J/Es-2/9711-55 dated 7-10-2022.
In the meeting, all Pharmacists of Jammu Division condemned the attitude of Govt and showed their strong resentment by unanimously deciding that no Govt in-service Pharmacists of UT of Jammu & Kashmir work in any PMB Jan Aushadhi Kendra of UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
It is pertinent to mention here that Govt Pharmacists render their duties at Distt Hospitals, Sub Distt Hospitals, Primary Health Centers, Sub Centers, Operation Theatres, and Drug Stores, and emergency and play a key role in Health Services for suffering Humanity. Govt Pharmacist placed at PMB Jan Aushadhi Kendra greatly impact their carrier prospect and patient care because to run the Jan Aushadhi Shop (a Govt run drug shop) are behind their capacities and it will be a clear violation of Govt Pharmacists Job Function order vide no DHS/J/2096-2113 dated 03-02-2008 in which Job Functions of Head Pharmacist, Supervisor Pharmacist, Senior Pharmacist, and Jr. Pharmacist are clearly defined. Govt should remember that we are Govt employee not appointed to run private shops.
It was also informed that till date most of pharmacists are not registered by Jammu Kashmir Pharmacy council act 1948 for which we are in struggling.
Sudan said that Govt should amend the policy of deputing Govt in-service Pharmacist at PMB Jan Aushadhi Kendra (Govt run drug shop) and engage retired and unemployed registered Pharmacists at PMB Jan Aushadhi Kendra in place of Govt Pharmacists. If Govt tries to pressurize the Govt Pharmacist we have no alternate to go protest/strike in the department. Those who attended the meeting are Kamal Jit Sawhney, Pawan Kumar, Mahesh Kumar, Madan Sharma. Ved Paul Saini, Sanjay Choudhary, Mahesh Sharma, Romesh chander, Vikram, Deep singh, Balkar Singh, Ashwani Kumar Rajinder Sharma, Dheeraj Sharma, S. Partap Singh, Raj Kumar, Sidharath Sharma.
