SRINAGAR, Oct 15: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Vikar Rasool Wani today welcomed dozens of prominent political workers from different areas into Congress at Srinagar Party Office.
JKPCC President condemned killing of Puran Krishan Bhat (Minority Community Member) in Shopian terming the incident as very unfortunate, mindless & shameful act and demanded exemplary punishment to killers.
Dozens of prominent political workers including ladies from different areas of Srinagar District joined Congress Party in presence of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee President Vikar Rasool Wani. Senior Congress Leaders including Mohd Anwar Bhat and various other leaders were present on this occasion.
JKPCC President welcomed the new entrants into Congress Party, urging them to work for the Party with great zest, as that, it is the Congress Party alone which represents urges and aspirations of the people.
Wani expressed confidence that Congress Party is vibrant situation, despite challenges and conspiracies, it will continue to work for the bettermet of the people, besides it (Congress) wont be cowed down by the challenges rather it will further get strengthened at grass roots, he added.
On this occasion JKPCC President strongly condemned the killing of Puran Krishan Bhat (minority community member) in Shopian District, terming it as most unfortunate, mindless and shameful act on the Party of killers. Wani lashed out at both Centre and State Govt for failing to protect the precious lives of minority community members and others living in Valley while questioning the tall claims made by BJP Govt from time to time with regard to peace and stability in J&K. The reality is that Govt has failed to maintain peaceful security scenario in Kashmir after abrogation of article 370 and downgrading of J&K into two UTs, Vikar Rasool Wani rued.
JKPCC President also laid emphasizes over ensuring security minority community.
