ANTF arrests two interstate drug-smugglers, recovers huge quantity of Charas

Jammu, Oct 16: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drug trafficking from its gross root level under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, ANTF Jammu arrested two interstate drug peddlers and recovered huge quantity of contraband substances from their possession.
ANTF Jammu (a specialized unit to check rising menace of drugs) achieved another success on Sunday 16th October 2022 after it foiled a bid to smuggle commercial quantity of Charas worth lakhs of Rupees. ANTF
Jammu received a specific information that one Creta car bearing registration No. HR29AV-3483 driven by Amit Kumar S/o Ram Kumar along with associate namely Ombir S/o Balraj both R/o Gorar Tehsil Kharkhoda District Sonipat, Haryana with common criminal intention has concealed huge quantity of Charas in the Car are
coming from Kashmir Valley and going out of J&K UT via Jammu. On this information, a case FIR No.14/2022 u/s 8/20/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu and ANTF team immediately swung into action and laid Naka at near NHW Bag-e-Bahu Morh Jammu. The above-mentioned Car was
stopped by the ANTF team and during search, 17.500 Kgs of Charas from the Car was recovered by the ANTF team. The accused persons have been arrested in the instant case and Car used in the commission of crime has been seized. Anti-Narcotics Task Force is investigating forward and backward links of this racket.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested drug peddlers were going to sell the same contraband among the youth and other drug peddlers at Mumbai Maharashtra.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
