10/17/2022 10:08:46 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 17: Coordinator Jammu District (Urban) and Zonal Secretary JKNC, Dr Vikas Sharma today said that National Conference alone was a party that has acceptability in both the regions of Jammu and Kashmir and can provide people friendly governance. While interacting with youth at Subhash Nagar, Dr. Vikas Sharma said that eversince BJP took over the reign into its hand, majority of youth and general public are totally feeling disgruntled and slipped into a state of desperation due to anti youth policies of the present government. He said that growing unemployment is a burning issue as the present regime has miserably failed to create job opportunities for the youth. He regretted that the Government is deliberately indulging the youth in drugs addiction by allowing the selling of alcohol in departmental stores. "Already the City of Temples has been turned into town wine shops because, in every street of Jammu city, wine shop has been opened during the last one and half years", he said. He said that the Government is violating rules and regulations by allowing departmental stores to sell Beer and other ready-made drinks. He said that already wine shops have been opened in populated areas and near religious places and they will not allow the departmental stores to sell Beer and other ready-made drinks. Dr Vikas also said that we stand committed for secularism and social equality. He said National Conference has a legacy of serving the poor and weaker sections of the society which was started by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. He maintained that fight for restoration of statehood to J&K shall be the foremost agenda of the party. People of J&K have suffered a lot during the past three years since abolition of statehood. He said that NC is fighting and will continue its fight till restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Now, they want to get rid of bureaucratic rule and waiting for the popularly elected government," Dr Sharma further said. He maintained that bureaucratic rule is no substitute for the popularly elected government. Dr Vikas said that we have standing instructions from our party President Dr Farooq Abdhulla to keep in constant touch with the people at the grass root level and take note of their problems for appropriate solution and timely disposal.
