Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 18-Stressing the need of creating a sense of security amongst all sections of the society, the former minister and Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) Chief Ghulam Hassan Mir today said that an atmosphere should be created in which people lay more thrust on socio-economic development of the state in most safe and secure atmosphere.
Addressing a public meeting at Talab Khatikan in support of party candidate Zaffar Javed Khan who is contesting from Jammu-East assembly constituency, Mir said that the state was rich in natural resources which need to be tapped. Once this potential is tapped there will be no dearth of jobs for the educated unemployed in the state.
Referring to unemployed youth in the state, he said that many educated youth were striking for the past several months but no government ever paid any heed towards their miseries. Since no government can give employment to them there was a need of empowering the state economically so that jobs are created in private as well as public sector automatically. There is no need of telling a lie to the voters and instead they should be encouraged to stand on their feet.
Mir said DPN favours percolation of democracy down to the grass root level and strengthening of all democratic institutions in the state. The state, he said needs special attention where its subjects are involved in all developmental activities. People by and large have been alienated and feel cheated at the hands of few who were now projecting their wards in the politics. He urged people to vote Zaffar Khan and send him to the assembly so that he plays a major role in strengthening democracy.
Senior Vice President DPN Kuldeep Wahi in his address said that Zaffar was the right candidate fro Jammu-East constituency as he had already developed ward no 2 according to the requirements of people.
Addressing the gathering, Zaffar Khan said, he has tried to come up to the expectations of masses and worked for the welfare of people of ward no 2 and urged people to vote him after assessing his work done in the ward as a councilor.
