GPS students organise BIS campaign

KATHUA, Oct 19: The students of Government Polytechnic Kathua organized door-to-door campaign in various areas of Kathua to raise awareness among the common consumers for their rights for quality goods and services on the occasion of World Standard Day 2022. As a part of Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) campaign 15 volunteer students of college participated in campaign. The campaign was coordinated by the BIS mentor of college Er. Jasdeep Kaur (Lecturer I&C), under the supervision and guidance of Principal Er. Arun Bangotra. Each volunteer covered 25 households and during their interaction they made them aware about the various BIS standards available in the market like Hallmark, ISI and distributed pamphlets about BIS, common household items under mandatory certfication and demonstrated BIS website, BIS CARE App and the Know Your Standards feature.
