GM Northern Railway Inspects festival rush arrangement at New Delhi

NEW DELHI, Oct 19: Today, Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager. Northern Railway Inspected the festival rush arrangement at New Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal and Hazrat Nizamudin Railway Station ahead of ensuing festivals. Dimpy Garg, DRM Delhi Division and Sr. Officers of Northern Railway also accompanied the General Manager during the inspection. GM Inspected the various arrangements at New Delhi Railway Station and also interacted with the passengers.
Delhi division of Northern Railway has planned 150 Trips of Special Trains consisting of 1026 Coaches in 42 Rakes. 1097 nos. coaches (trips) have been augmented in trains. Various arrangements have been made by Delhi Division at the stations in view of the festival rush:
Mini Control Room
Setting up of mini control at New Delhi and Anand Vihar Terminal being manned (from 06.00 hrs to 24.00 hrs) with nominated staff of Operating, Commercial, Mechanical, Engineering, Electrical, RPF & Medical.
This well-equipped mini-control Room have facilities like Telephones, train information, Panel Room connectivity, CCTV feeds of platforms & circulating areas etc.
Officers are deputed as Special Duty Officers (SDOs) at New Delhi station during the peak rush period for overall supervision and co-ordination.
Additional passengers waiting area and facilities
Tentage arrangement at Ajmeri Gate circulating area 10500 sq. ft. having holding Capacity of 584 passengers. Second tentage at Pf 16 Delhi end having area of 6250 sq. ft. having holding Capacity of 417 passengers. Total passenger's capacity in the temporary waiting area at New Delhi railway station is 1001. At New Delhi railway Station 20 nos. mobile toilets, 20 nos. additional water taps in front of the tentage area, 04 nos. reservation counters and 04 UTS booking counters with 01 enquiry counter, 02 no. Big size LCD SCREEN for train information and public address system, 02 nos. small size LCD screen for news and cultural songs, 02 nos. food and snacks stalls and 01 no. RPF help desk counters have been provided.
Tentage arrangement at Anand Vihar terminal circulating area 8100 sq. ft. having holding Capacity of 450 passengers. At Anand Vihar Terminal 20 nos. mobile toilets, 20 nos. additional water taps in front of the tentage area, 04 nos. reservation counters and 04 nos. UTS booking counters with 01 enquiry counter, 02 no. Big size LCD SCREEN For train information and public address system, 02 nos. small size LCD screen for news and cultural songs, 02 nos. food and snacks stalls and 01 no. RPF help desk counters have been set up.
