DLSA Udhampur hosts awareness prog on Legal services

UDHAMPUR, Oct 19: District Legal Services Authority Udhampur today organised an Awareness Programme on the topic NALSA (Legal Services to Victims of Acid Attacks) Scheme, 2016 under Jan Abhyian launched in the UT ahead of Fourth Phase of "Back to Village Programme (B2V4), 2022.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Chairman DLSA Udhampur, Y. P. Bourney (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge Udhampur) and overall supervision of Secretary District Legal Services Authority Udhampur, Rajni Sharma in Collaboration with Kalra College of Education at Battal Ballian Village. Resource Persons of the programme were Panel Lawyer Adv Balwan Singh and Adv. Mallikarjun Singh Slathia.
The resource persons for the programme threw light on the topic and shared their valuable knowledge on the subject with the participants. The gathering was provided with firsthand knowledge on the provisions of the NALSA scheme for Acid Attack Victims.
The Resource Persons discussed all the provisions of the Scheme and explained in a very lucid manner and asked the participants especially victims of Acid Attack to come forward and take benefits of the Scheme.
Secretary District Legal Services Authority Udhampur, Rajni Sharma, thanked the resource persons and other participants for participating in the awareness programme and reiterated the mission of Legal Services Institutions to provide legal aid and legal awareness to all the distressed sections of the society especially at the grassroots level.
The gathering included Principal of the College Dr. Neelam Bakshi, staff members, Students and people from adjoining villages of Battal Ballian. PLV Sham Lal Sharma assisted in smooth conduct of the programme.
