Pinegrove school Dharampur celebrates annual function

Jammu, Oct 20: Pinegrove School, Dharampur successfully celebrated the first day of its much awaited Annual Function 2022.
The grand extravaganza unfolded on 20 Oct 2022 with two sets of cultural programmes that were presented in the morning and evening hours respectively.
A staggering array of spectacular performances embellished the stage during the morning function which included a Symphony Orchestra that was resplendent with the dulcet tones of the classic goldies, Queen’s ‘We will rock you’ and Boney ‘By rivers of Babylon’; a significant anecdote from the life of the great Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was enacted in the play Khichdi; the rendition of Indian music composition ‘Raag Kirwani’ in slow and fast tempo had a calming effect that reached the crescendo with the moving dance drama ‘The Story of a Soldier’.
The presentation on the Everest Base Camp Expedition, release of the new School Song and the School’s Annual Report 2022 featuring astounding accomplishments of Pinegrove School in the current academic year were also the center of special attraction.
The evening function that was presented in the brilliant lights of the newly refurbished ‘Sant Stadium’ too was packed with rejuvenating and energetic ensemble of items which included soulful songs sung by ‘Groveuphoria’ rock and jazz band which was followed by the enthralling display of Girls’ pipe band.
The young tabla maestros too exhibited their skills by playing 16 beats on the tabla while the percussionists weaved out a vibrant instrumental melody on different percussion instruments. The evening show culminated with the lively Rajasthani Folk Dance ‘Kalbelia’ and a breathtaking Gymnastics ‘Chair and Horse work’ display among others, all performed by the jubilant and enthusiastic students.
Art, Craft, Photography and Robotics exhibition too was an awe-inspiring and noteworthy presentation of excellent talent while the dazzling UV light show filling the sky added to the blinding splendour of the Grovian campus on the momentous occasion.
Bharat Khera, IAS, Principal Secretary Home, PWD and General Administration Departments, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, was the Chief Guest for the morning function while Robert Glenn Reaves, Senior Principal of Sallie B. Howard School, North Carolina, USA and Mrs. Geri Dew, Member Board of Governors attended the evening fest as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour.
They were unanimous in appreciating the management for doing a yeoman’s service by providing the students with world class infrastructure and facilities, in a pristine yet topographically challenging terrain, to hone their skills in a variety of sports and activities so that they become assets to the society and are well equipped to meet the challenges of the ever changing work culture.
Reaves also spoke about the new long-term exchange program being commenced upon, from 2023, between the two sister schools, Sallie B Howard and Pinegrove School.
Special guests Mr. Robert Geiman, Member of the ‘Cultural Bridges’ Exchange Program to the USA and Mr. Sandeep Aggarwal, Assistant Director, Sallie B Howard School, USA too attended both the functions.
