The chief guest said dengue fever is one of the top ten global health threats - it's also the most rapidly spreading. There has been a 30 - fold increase in global incidence over the past 50 years. Common symptoms of dengue include fever, rash, nausea and aches and pains, lasting up to a week.
Some people with dengue develop complications that can result in internal bleeding, shock and even death. Severe dengue requires careful monitoring in hospital. There are four serotypes of dengue virus, all of which can cause disease. Prior infection with one dengue serotype is a risk factor for developing later infections & the peak of the dengue epidemic period is around June to October during the rainy season. It is believed that climate is an important factor for dengue transmission. A mathematical model for vector-host infectious disease was used to calculate the impacts of climate to the transmission of dengue virus and also lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful, effective & result oriented theme wise contents to promote love & peace as advocated by the stalwarts of theatre National Unity & Communal Harmony, Indian Democracy Health etc. During the month BLSKS will present 7 shows in Vijaypur, Miran Sahib, Satwari, Katra, Samba Blocks of Jammu District to aware the masses.
