Amit leads Mining e-Challan / e-Marketplace drive in Jammu, Samba, Kathua districts

Jammu, Oct 22: Taking ongoing Jan Abhiyan Programme in connection with Fourth Phase of Back to Village Programme (B2V4) in J&K Union Territory to next phase, Amit Sharma Secretary Geology and Mining along with O.P Bhagat, Director Geology and Mining visited various places in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts to ensure 100% e-Challan implementation in these prime mining districts of the UT. They also paid a visit at Diwali Mela in Swanka area of Samba district organised by District Administration for special ongoing schemes of different departments. Amongst exclusive stalls here, a special camp was also organised regarding Mining Department initiatives in the Mela in which special hands-on training session was also been organised under the guidance of District Mineral Officer Samba Mohd Sayeed, JKAS.
While briefing the gathering regarding e-Marketplace provisioned by the Mining Department and switching over to generation of e-Challans and e-market place for sale/purchase of raw material/minor minerals, Secretary Mining Amit Sharma stressed upon 100% usage of e-market place for transparency and efficiency. Public gathering at this place primarily included stakeholders like Brick Kiln Owners, Lease Holders, Stone Crusher Unit Holders and other related persons like public representatives who interacted with the visiting officers and put forth their issues which were promptly addressed by Secretary Mining while issuing directions to all concerned for their spot redressal.
Apart from this, Secretary Mining alongwith Director Geology & Mining visited different sites in three districts Jammu, Samba and Kathua to conduct checks on smooth issuance of e-Challans for different Mining products and found that all efforts are going-on for usage of e-Governance tools which is bringing total transparency, swiftness and efficiency in Mining operations across the UT.
The public especially various stakeholders who met the visiting team appreciated the efforts of mining department led by Secretary Mining Amit Sharma for introducing such revolutionary services in order to procure the minor minerals through online mode and they assured full cooperation to the department in implementing e-Challan in full fledged manner.
