| Bahu Plaze allotment case | | HC grants week’s time for affidavits | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 18- In a much publicized allotment of a hall at prime place Bahu Plaza to brother of Ex-Chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Justice YP Nargotra of J&K Jammu Wing today granted one week's time to commissioner/secretary Housing & Urban Development for filling objections and personal affidavit. This order was passed in the open court after hearing Advocate SS Ahmed appearing for the petitioner Sunil Mahajan and Additional Advocate General Seema Shekhar appearing for the state. Court directed the respondents to file objections and personal affidavits in terms of the order passed on September 25, 2007. On September 25, 2007, the High Court had directed Commissioner/Secretary Housing and Urban Development to file affidavit and a copy of the cancellation order if any issued. Court had also ordered that no further proceedings in the matter be taken-up till next date. During the course of arguments, the counsel for the petitioner SS Ahmed informed the Court that Government has cancelled the allotment impugned along with other allotment made in contravention of rules. Sunil Mahajan son of SK Gupta resident of Trikuta Nagar Jammu had challenged the order No JDA/BP/2430 of August 30, 2007 whereby Sajjad Ahmed Bhat was allotted Hall/Shop No 209 (A-2) South Block, Bahu Plaza, Railhead complex Jammu, illegally and arbitrarily by throwing established norms of allotment to the winds.
