| Sham Talib awarded ‘Sahitya Shree’ title | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 18: The renowned urdu poet and literary personality of the J&K state, Sham Talib, was felicitated with the ‘Sahitya Shree’ title given jointly by Nami Dogri Sanstha and J&K academy of art, culture and languages (JKAACL) at a function organized at K.L Saigal hall here the otherday. Talib on the occasion was presented with a shawl and a ‘Sahitya Shree trophy. The award was given to Sham Talib for his outstanding contribution of Urdu poetry in the state, by Prof Zahur-ud-Din and Director Radio Kashmir, Jammu and Doordarshan Dr. K.C Dubey who was the chief guest. On the occasion writers of Urdu and Hindi languages read out papers on Talib’s achievements, while Suhail Kazmi said all Ghazals, poems etc written by Sham Talib will be published and distributed free of cost in the form of book soon. Anand Lehar who presided over the function said Sham Talib has done commendable service in field of Urdu poetry in the state and expressed the view that the same also needed to be recognized at Government as well as non-Governmental levels. Among others present on the occasion were JKACCL addl. Secretary Savita Bakshi, Capt. Lalit Sharma, Harish Kaila etc.
