After banning Diwali celebrations, Kejriwal turns ‘bhakt’
Wants images of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi on fresh currency notes

Early Times Report

New Delhi/Jammu, Oct 26: Delhi Chief Minister after banning use of firecrackers on Diwali and forcing people to celebrate the festival without burning firecrackers has taken U-turn by advising the Centre to put the pictures of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi on fresh currency notes.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “It seems that Kejriwal has realized that his anti-Hindu decision to ban crackers on Diwali has not gone well with the people as they have taken a strong objection to his move of stopping them from celebrating the auspicious occasion.”
He said, “Kejriwal has taken refuge in Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi as he knows that people will punish his party in the coming municipal elections in Delhi.”
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Kejriwal said, “On Indian currency notes on one side there is the picture of Gandhi Ji. It should remain as it is. If we put a photo of Ganesha Ji and Lakshmi Ji on the other side, the entire country will get their blessings."
Reacting to Kejriwal’s assertion, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that Kejriwal is trying to become a “bhakt“. “The same Arvind Kejriwal who was saying in a press conference a few days back that you will be put in jail if you celebrate Diwali even by mistake, is today suddenly speaking on Lakshmi and Ganesh ji. Diwali is a festival of Lakshmi and Ganesh. The one who threatened jail over Diwali celebrations is now taking a U-turn and creating drama,” Patra said.
Referring to an old tweet by Kejriwal, Patra added, “Whenever we celebrate Diwali, the Puja begins by making a swastika symbol. (Kejriwal) shared a meme on wiping that symbol with a broom. That tweet is available in the public domain. The same man is today trying to be a bhakt.”
Taking another jibe at Kejriwal, the BJP leader said Laxmi, the Goddess of wealth, would never forgive him. “Your colleague Manish Sisodia has earned so much money through the liquor mafia, Goddess Laxmi is never going to forgive you for stealing the money of poor,” he said.
