| Workshop on ‘Time management’ organized | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 18- Softlab Computer Institute and Satyam Institute of Hotel Management (authorized learning centre of PTU, Jallandhar) organized a workshop on ‘Time Management’ here today. Vishal Gupta regional manager PTU speaking on the occasion emphasized the importance of time management in today’s life and remarked “our ability to use time well depends on the culture or unwritten rules of the organization. Managing time is about managing priorities, he added. Gaurav Gupta Centre Director in his welcome address said Softlab Computer institute being the oldest center of PTU has won various awards from PTU on national level like best learning centre and best performance in the past years and is continuously bringing laurels for the state and students by the way of performance, human resources and quality management. He also stressed on those people working together in an open way & stop wasting each other’s time. They examine everything and eliminate useless work. They setup helpful systems but review them regularly. People agree on the necessity of working as a team to avoid wasted effort. The tackle long term issues as they arise. More time is spent thinking less on reacting. He also said that Managing time is about managing priorities. This is best done thoughtfully. If not, people often do the things they find satisfying, or which get them recognition, or are quick and easy. He said Satyam Institute of hotel management catering and tourism being one and only hotel Management College in Jammu having more than 150 students has won various awards and recently got the best award for its results in year, 2007.The college has got 100% placements records in all reputed hotels like Hotel Asia, K.C. Residency, and Hotel Ashoka, Hotel Niwas and has got best faculty members from reputed IHM colleges.
