ICAI organizes super mega career counseling programme for Govt school students

Jammu, Oct 31: For promoting Commerce as a stream among government school students, Committee on Career Counseling of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organised a super mega career counseling programme on Monday.
In a statement here organizers said that the programme was held at Gandi Nagar and various other places in J&K. “More than 2000 Students from different schools physically participated the events across the UT with the help of counselling cells, DSEJ and DSEK,” the statement said.
At Teacher Bhawan Auditorium, Jammu more than 500 Students participated in Career Counselling programme in the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma, Director School Education, Jammu. More Than 15000 students from different regions were connected through virtual mode, the statement added.
Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma, DSEJ appreciated the initiatives taken by institute for the students so that benefit can reach to each student spread across the nook and corner of the country.
He assured full support to ICAI for fulfilling the objective of providing Career guidance and promoting Chartered Accountancy Course in all the schools of Jammu division.
CA Nakul Saraf, Chairman J&K Branch said that the prime objective of the counselling programme is to bring out the true potential of students.
He emphasized that the commerce education plays an utmost important role in the inclusive growth of industry and the whole economy. With Jammu having a rich pool of talent, the young students need to be nurtured in the proper way so that the young generation of today shall be able to contribute to the nation and society through its knowledge and skills.
He explained about the financial handholding done by the Institute in the form of 75 % waiver of the course fee for all levels of CA course for students from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh & for North-Eastern States.
CA, Vineet Kohli, Secretary J&K Branch took the first session and gave a detailed presentation about Chartered Accountancy course and appraised the gathering about the various initiatives taken by ICAI for the benefit of the students and members at large.
CA Priya Seth, Executive Member took the second session where she apprised the gathering about the benefits after becoming a CA and various working opportunities for CAs.
She further explained about post qualification courses and the acceptability of CAs abroad.
CA Ayush Sawhney, Treasurer J&K Branch conducted the proceedings and presented formal vote of thanks.
CA Vikas Purdhani, Vice Chairman, CA Sourav Pargal, Executive Member along with Officials from DSEJ- HR Pakhroo (Joint Director), Monika Bhandari, JKAS (Chief Accounts Officer), Dr. Rajesh Attri, JKAS (Personnel Officer), Dr. Romesh Kumar ( Head Counselling Cell), Smt. Mamta Sharma, (Dy Director Planning), DS Manhas (DEPO) and Principals of the schools from the education department of Jammu graced the event.
