Advertisements can’t help AAP
10/31/2022 11:12:13 PM

Aam Admi Party (AAP) Government in Punjab has been accused of spending around Rs one crore on social media advertisements in poll-bound Gujarat.
The AAP Government is trying to project its so-called achievements in Punjab in Gujarat to lure the voters and for doing so it’s spending the money from Punjab’s exchequer. This very fact has annoyed the people of Punjab. They are asking why the money meant for developing Punjab is being spent in Gujarat that too on publicity?
Not only Gujarat, the AAP Government in Punjab has been spending money on advertisements even in Jammu and Kashmir. It seems that the Punjab Government is under the illusion that by projecting its so-called good work in Gujarat and J&K it can lure the voters. But the fact is that people in both the places are aware about the stunts which the AAP is indulging in. So it won’t be easy for the party to make any impact by beating the trumpet.
The AAP has lost the ground in Delhi as its ministers and leaders are facing serious corruption charges. The AAP had arrived with a big bang in Jammu region and its leaders had started projecting it as an alternative to other parties but within a few months the AAP in Jammu stands dismantled. People who had joined the party initially have said goodbye to AAP as the party’s leadership didn’t pay much attention towards the issues raised by them.
The AAP has been trying to become a national party but it seems that it won’t be able to reach the level of a national party. The resentment is brewing against the party in Delhi and it winning the forthcoming municipal elections in the national capital looks like a very difficult task.
As far as J&K and Gujarat are concerned, the AAP may not find it easy to venture into the areas that are bastions of the traditional parties. In Jammu most of the people have written off Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Admi Party and in Gujarat people are not even looking towards the agenda of the party. Advertisements won’t help. Work speaks and people are politically aware, they can’t be taken on a ride by making hollow promises.
