SCERT organises workshop to develop instructional manual

JAMMU, Nov 1: A Five day workshop for development of Instructional Manual for contextualized TLM in ECCE in light of NCF-2022 w.e.f 27th October to 1st November concluded here today at SCERT J&K, Divisional office Jammu which was organised by "Population Education, Girls Education, ECCE and Education for All" Wing of State Council of Educational Research and Training-J&K, Divisional Office Jammu, in order to guide teachers in creating and using locally contextualized TLM for teaching Pre-primary students under the guidance and supervision of JD SCERT H.R. Pakhroo.
Going by the essence of recently launched NCF 2022 on Foundational stages, focus is being laid on connecting learning with the local context. For that matter, TLM based on locally available material becomes an effective strategy to put the local resources at best use, whereby the students are not just familiarized with their local context but the cost of creating variety of play material is also reduced. Entire focus of the workshop remained on creating no cost/ low cost TLM derived from local resources of regional and cultural importance.
While presiding over the workshop HR Pakhroo, Joint Director, SCERT-J&K Jammu Division commended the Resource persons and experts for their tremendous efforts those included Prof. Romila Soni, Associate Professor, DEE, NCERT, New Delhi, Savitri Singh, former Head Master, IIT Nursery School, New Delhi, Amita Kaushik, Co- founder Eduweave Foundation New Delhi, Anandi Tokas, Eduweave Foundation Program head, Anshita Mishra, Program head, Eduweave Foundation, Jaswinder Kour, Coordinator DRC Pre-primary Education, Jammu Division, Dr. Sarita Sharma, Assistant Coordinator DRC Pre-primary Education, Jammu Division, Roohi Sultana, ECCE Expert from Kashmir.
All renowned experts actively deliberated on the carefully planned themes and topics pertaining to Teaching learning material in ECCE and NCF 2022.
Presiding over the valedictory session in presence of faculty including Surjeet Sharma, Swarn Singh, N.P. Singh, Pawan Gupta, Kishor Kumar, Dr Sanjeevani, JD, SCERT-JK H.R. Pakhroo congratulated all the participants from ten districts of Jammu Division on successful completion of the task and urged upon all the participants to actively use the contextualised TLM in effective classroom transactions and implement the learning of workshop in their fields thereby realising the goals of NCF-2022 in light of NEP-2020.
Participants in the workshop were actively engaged through participatory assignments. All the participating trainees showed an overwhelming, active and constructive response throughout the program.
Proceedings of the workshop were co-ordinated by Deepak Sharma, Sr. Academic Officer SCERT-JK and co- coordinated by Monika Dogra and Shazia Kouser and Technical coordination was done by Anil Sharma , Meena Thakur, Akash Khajuria and Yugal Kishore under the convenorship of N.P Singh, Head, of the Wing.
