Mining Department holds Meeting with Stakeholders to discuss multiple issues

Jammu, Nov 3: An important meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Secretary Mining Amit Sharma at Civil Secretariat Jammu premises wherein officers of Mining Department including O.P Bhagat, Director Geology & Mining, Joint Directors Jammu/Kashmir, all District Mineral Officers, Additional Secretaries of Jal Shakti Department, Agriculture Production Department, General Administration Department, Forest Department, Revenue Department and Mining Lessees, Crusher Unit Holders, Brick Kiln Association Members, Mineral Dealer License Dealer Holders, NHAI Project Managers and other participated from all twenty districts through virtual mode.
Secretary Mining Amit Sharma reiterated the advisory for all the Stakeholders of Mining Department viz., Stone Crusher unit holders, Mining Lessees, Brick kiln holders, Mineral Dealer holders to install weighing Bridges for ensuring transparency in transportation of all kinds of raw and finished material. He said that the weighing bridges are required to be integrated with the e-Market place/e-challan Web Portal developed by the Geology and Mining Department for ensuring utmost transparency in sale and purchase and transportation of minerals.
Amit further mentioned that the Issuance of NOCs pending with the relevant Departments under Single Window System in respect of newly carved out Minor Mineral Blocks/e-auctioned Minor Mineral Blocks (pending with JKEIAA) as per fresh format devised by J&K Environment Impact Assessment Authority (JKEIAA), needs to be expedited by the Stakeholder Departments, so that timely action is taken regarding their e-Auctioning in all districts.
Secretary Mining stressed upon the concerned officers to sort out the issues relating to the issuance of Short Term Permits required by the various executing agencies for facilitating the construction works on several Projects of National importance, such as Ring Road, Expressway and other State-owned Projects under PMGSY, etc.
Other important issue taken-up during the Meeting for taking views of the stakeholders included Royalty Clearance Certificate to be given by the Geology and Mining Department for the material consumed by the Executing Agencies of various Government Departments engaged in the construction of development Projects of National importance to avoid loss to the State Exchequer. The representatives of Lessees, Crusher unit and brick kiln holders, MDL holders, etc. also projected their issues and demands in the meeting and Secretary Mining Amit Sharma gave directions for immediate redressal of all genuine ones amongst them.
Earlier, Director, Geology and Mining also briefed the meeting about the working of Mining Department besides steps being taken to early disposal of pending issues of Mining sector.
Before closing the Meeting, Secretary Mining Amit Sharma expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for adapting their working towards newly implemented system of QR-coded e-Challans, e-Payment through usage of Portal and e-Marketplace for availing Mining Department.
