2nd invitational U-13 boys cricket tournament start

HIMACHAL PRADESH, Nov 3: The exciting Opening Ceremony of the 2nd Invitational Cricket Tournament for Boys Under-13 took place on the 2nd of November 2022 at Pinegrove School, Dharampur. Pinegrove was privileged to welcome on campus as the chief guest, the distinguished Director of Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, Simon Weale and His wife Rebecca. Teams from 5 elite schools of the country which included Bishop Cotton School, Shimla; Mayo College, Ajmer; The Punjab Public School, Nabha; Welham Boys' School, Dehradun and Pinegrove School, Solan participated in the tournaments in the 'The Arena' in a colourful display against the dazzling floodlights. The Oath-taking ceremony was carried out by Aryan Bakshi, the Head Boy of Pinegrove School, Dharampur. The excited young cricketers and the harmonious School Brass Band marched past in an exuberant parade as the Chief Guest, Simon Weale escorted by the Executive Director, Pinegrove School, Capt. AJ Singh and Head Sports, Surinder Mehta, addressed the gathering with an inspirational speech and declared the much looked forward to Tournament 'Open'. Excitement echoed in the Arena with the Opening Match taking place between Bishop Cotton School, Shimla and the Host School, Pinegrove School, Solan. The ecstatic cheerleaders added to the overall pulsating excitement of the smashing boundaries. Team BCS won the toss and chose to field first. Team PGS brought the tally to an exciting start by putting up a score of 144 runs for 6 wickets at the end of 20 overs and won the match.
