| Poor civic amenities in Jammu West: Sharma | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 19: Independent candidate from Jammu West Assembly constituency Ashok Sharma has expressed serious concern over poor condition of civic amenities, long power cuts and erratic power supply. Addressing public meetings at Talab-Tilloo, Paloura, Bhagwati Nagar, Exchange Road, Rajpura, Rehari, Ajit Colony, Govind Nagar and Janipur during convassing in the constituency today, he emphasized his anguish that no meaningful projects could yet be taken up under JNNURM in the winter capital of the state though nearly Rs. 4200 crore have been sanctioned under the scheme. He stressed for implementing immediate formulation of various projects under the scheme to ensure that various component of the scheme be implemented in a time bound manner to ameliorate the difficulties of the city. Sharma also impressed upon that nearly one crore pilgrims who visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine annually and demanded that interrupted, power, winter supply and sanitary condition should be improved in the city of temples. He resolved that if elected, in to the assembly he would ensure that the Jammu city is developed as a model city in the country.
