| Congress leaders intensify campaign | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 19- Continuing their election campaign in favour of party candidates contesting elections from Raipur-Domana, Bishnah and RS Pora constituencies, several congress leaders, including former MP Janak Raj Gupta, former minister B R Kundal and Prof Hari Om, addressed series of election rallies at Bantalab, Samba, R S Pura, Bishnah and several other places urging the electorate to vote for congress party. Addressing well attended rallies, veteran congress leader Janak Raj Gupta appealed the electorate to expose those parties which promise ‘stars and moons’ and after coming to power fails to deliver. He said it is the Congress party alone that has stood the test of the time, adding that whatever promises were made by it during 2002 elections was not only fulfilled, but the party has gone far ahead of it and in this connection referred to the creation of four districts in Jammu region, including Samba. In his hard hitting speeches, the former minister B R Kundal took the opponents to task for criticizing the Azad government of creating mess and bringing miseries to the people and said that it was the congress party government that brought cheers for the people and came up to their expectations. The massive development on all fronts coupled with building mass infrastructure for the speedy growth of the state is testimony of the fact that Azad government did what others could not do during their several decades’ rule. Prof Hari Om who also spoke at these rallies said that BJP which for the public consumption in Jammu region claims that NC to be their main opponent, but in fact has a secret understanding with it. He said in the past too the BJP had this pact with NC during the elections to Jammu Municipal Corporation and cautioned the people not to fall pray to the emotive slogans of the party. Several other party leaders including Om Chopra, Babu Hans Raj, Kirtan Singh, Anoop Khajuria, Ved Prakash Bhagat and Aijaz Banihali also addressed these rallies.
