EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 19: Students of Alexander Memorial School, celebrated Christmas Day function today in the school premises in a unique manner. The programme was started with a word of prayer by Rev. Sohan Lal, Presbyter in-charge, St. Paul’s Church, Residency Road, Jammu. Usha Dachan wife of late DGP, Rajee Dachan was the chief guest at the function. I.D. Soni, M.L. Sarup, S.M. Gill, Feastus, Nasreen Khan, Mary Sohan Lal, Prabha Jain, Johnny William, Neeru Puri and Dixit, were among the guests. Principal of the school Esther William delivered the welcome address. The tiny tots staged a “Christmas Play” written as directed by Annedore Schmidt from Germany who was in Alexander Memorial School for one month. The audience lauded their performance, and chief guest gave away the certificate to the students who excelled in the 2007-08 examination. Dachen said Christmas was a time of fellowship, the world today needs peace and forgiveness which is what Jesus Christ came into the world for. The programme was compared by Asma Butt. The vote of thanks was presented by S.K. Munshi. The whole school was booming with carols. Everybody seemed to say the other fellow “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
