Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 8: Even as Elon Musk has taken over the microblogging website Twitter, the National Conference leadership “has issues” with the world’s richest man.
For the last few days, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and NC President, and his party cadres have been twitting about Elon Musk “as if the latter has to play any role in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir.” Omar Abdullah has been twitting about Elon Musk, mostly criticizing latter’s decisions. “#Mastodon #twiexit have struck a raw nerve,” Abdullah tweeted in reaction to a Tweet by Elon Musk.
In another tweet a few days ago, Omar was concerned about the $8 price tag for the verified account on the Twitter. “If this is true I look forward to telling
@elonmusk & @verified where they can put their white tick,” Omar Abdullah had tweeted.
Many of the NC leaders following Omar have been supporting his views on the Twitter takeover.
But the reactions of Omar Abdullah have drawn criticism from observers in Jammu and Kashmir. “Why is some leader in Kashmir concerned about what the richest person on planet Earth, who lives in America has to do with his business there. This makes mockery of the politics back home in Kashmir,” said a political observer.
Among politicians from Kashmir, Omar Abdullah enjoys maximum number of followers on the Twitter.
Since bursting onto the Silicon Valley scene more than two decades ago, the 50-year-old serial entrepreneur, Musk, has kept the public captivated with his business antics.
Born in South Africa, Musk showed his talents for entrepreneurship early, going door-to-door with his brother selling homemade chocolate Easter eggs and developing his first computer game at the age of 12.
He has described his childhood as difficult, coloured by his parents’ divorce, bullying at school and his own difficulty picking up on social cues because of Asperger’s Syndrome. At the earliest opportunity, he left home for college, moving to Canada and then the US, where he studied economics and physics at the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League college.
He recently purchased the Twitter.
Despite repeated attempts the NC leadership couldn’t be contacted comments.
