Awareness cum dental check up camp held

JAMMU, Nov 9: SGSD International School Domana in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College Jammu organized a free dental check-up and awareness camp in the school premises. Under the directions of Principal, Dr Rajesh Gupta and Dr Iqbal Singh (HOD Public Health Dentistry), a team of Doctors which includes Dr. Ankita Gupta, Dr Anu Gandral, Dr Nipunika Gupta, Dr Jan Misbah-Un-Nisa, Dr Bhavneet Kour, Dr Seerat Sharma, Dr Hasila Keen, Dr Priya Choudhary and Dr Sikander Mushtaq and the para-medical staff carried out a comprehensive dental check-up on students from Pre-Nursery to Class IX.
Dr. Ankita Gupta explained the importance of oral health and ways to maintain oral hygiene to students as well as teachers. They spoke to the students about the importance of oral and dental care and explained in detail about the root cause of the dental and oral health problems. The students were taught how to brush using a model. Team informed students about preventive measures to stay on top of their oral health. The young students got ample opportunities to interact with the Doctors to enquire and gain knowledge about their oral health and maintaining good oral hygiene.
The aim of the camp was to check, regulate and maintain the dental wellness of the students and spread awareness regarding dental health and hygiene. Students received all the information with great enthusiasm and vowed to take better care of their teeth.
The School Principal Sonia Pawar, Manjeet Singh and Balvinder Kour, Members of Management and TP Singh thanked the doctors and para-medical staff for enlightening the students on the concerned issue of dental care and for rendering their selfless service to the school.
