GMC holds Curtain raiser press conference of TRANSCON- 2022

Jammu, Nov 9: 47th Annual National Conference of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion Medicine (ISBTI). TRANSCON-2022 is being organised by Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, Govt. Medical College Jammu and ISBTI UT J&K Chapter w.e.f 11th-13th November 2022 which shall be inaugurated by Manoj Sinha Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of UT of Jammu and Kashmir on 11th November 2022 at hotel Radisson at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
Mr Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar Advisor to Honorable Lieutenant Governor of UT of Jammu and Kashmir and Mr Bhupinder Kumar Administrative Secretary of Health and Medical Education Department shall be the Guests of Honour.
Speaking at the press conference Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal & Dean, Patron of the Conference said that the theme of the conference is "Trends, Advances and Future Frontiers in Transfusion Medicine" with emphasis on achieving 100% Voluntary Blood Donation in J&K, UT and across the country. More than 700 delegates across the country have got themselves registered for the conference.
There shall be three pre- conference wet workshops on different subjects for the post-graduates students and technicians from across the country on 10th of November 2022.She further said that this is a matter of pride for everyone that for the first time in the history of GMC, Jammu, a National Level Conference is being organised by any Deptt.
The inaugural ceremony shall be followed by Scientific sessions. These session shall be for three days from 11th to 13th November 2022. Experts of National and International repute in the field of Blood Transfusion and Immuno- hemaetology shall enrich the Participants with their vast experience. Focus shall be on developing innovative ideas to achieve hundred person Voluntary Blood Donation in the J&K UT and across the country. Seperate sessions have been planned for this important topic of Voluntary Blood Donation. Post Graduate students, lab technologists, Residents and Faculty shall have ample opportunities to share their views on various aspects of Blood Transfusion through posters and Oral presentation.
The press conference was also attended by Dr TR Raina Organising Chairman and Dr Meena Sidhu Organising Secretary of the conference.
Another unique characteristic of this conference is that for the first time online Yoga and Meditation classes shall be organised for all the delegates from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on daily basis from 11th to 12th November 2022.
