Pension Deptt organising Digital Life Certificate Camp on Saturday
11/10/2022 11:01:34 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 10: As a part of the nation-wide campaign for Digital Life Certificate (DLC) through Face Authentication Technique launched by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension, is holding one Day Camp at the premises of the SBI Cantt Jammu on 12th November.
The camp is organised in collaboration with the SBI and the Central Govt Pensioners’ Welfare Association, Jammu (CGPWA) to create awareness among the Central Govt Pensioners in use of this technology for submission of their Life Certificate to the Pension Disbursing Banks in the month of November (pensioners aged 80 years in October) to ensure continuity of their pension in the bank concerned. The Pensioners would be trained in use of technology and also help in generating DLC.
According to the General Secretary of the CGPWA, K B Jandial, the camp will start at 11 am. The Department has deputed a team headed by its Senior Consultant, Ms. Ramanjit Kour for the purpose. He has appealed to all members of the Association and other Central Govt pensioners to attend the camp and get benefited for submission of DLC to their respective Pension Disbursing Banks.
The Ministry headed by the Minister of State Dr Jitender Singh has brought about “ease of living” for the pensioners who had to stand in Banks for long for submission of the physical certificates. Initially, it started generating Jeevan Pramaan Patra using biometrics but found difficulty in many cases in capturing finger biometrics due to aging.
It then collaborated with MeiTY which developed a Face Authentication Technology based on UIDAI Aadhaar database that made it possible to generate DLC on any Android smart mobile phones. The whole process is very simple.
