| Kisa Zameen Ka: Hooligans attempt to murder a civilian at Chekseri Pattan | | | Srinagar, September, 16: Following an attempt to murder a 48 year old civilian over a dispute on a patch of land at Chekseri Pattan, police took into custody four people including his two brothers and sister-in-law for preliminary questioning. A group of eight hooligans, according to police, barged into the house of 48 year old PHE official Mohd Ramzan Parray S/O Ab Rahim Parray at Chekseri Pattan and took him forcibly with them. The abductors, according to sources, shifted Mohd Ramzan to a paddy field where he was thrashed severely, attacked with some sharp edged weapon and hanged. Mohd Ramzan was lying in a pool of blood on the ground, attackers were mistaken that he died, while as Mohd Ramzan was unconscious for the whole night in the same paddy field. In the wee hours people spotted Mohd Ramzan and shifted him to Pattan hospital from where he was referred to SKIMS Soura. His condition is stated to critical. Meanwhile it has been learnt that Mohd Ramzan used to fight with his brother Ab Gaffar Parray over a dispute on a patch of land occasionally. After registering a preliminary report in this connection, police arrested ab Gaffar and Mohd Yaqboob, brothers of the victim, Aisha Begum, wife of Ab gaffer and Farooq Ahmed Sheikh S/O Ab Ghani. Police is trying to find out that to what extent attack on Mohd Ramzan is linked to his land dispute. The arrestees are being questioned and efforts are on to record statement of injured Mohd Ramzan, but his condition was stated to be critical till last reports came in.
