11/13/2022 10:28:22 PM

EArly Times REport

KATHUA, Nov 13: Rattan Lal Gupta, National Conference Provincial President Jammu on Sunday gave a clarion call to all the opposition parties to come on same pedestal to combat the divisive forces unitedly as it has become necessary for saving the country from disaster.
The senior NC leader was addressing a workers’ convention of JKNC SC Cell as chief guest at Block Barnoti in district Kathua. The meeting was organized by Dr Janak Raj, District President JKNC SC Cell. Rattan Lal Gupta made a fervent call to protect the Indian Union from divisive forces claiming that the situation has become precarious with such forces successfully creating wedge between communities and religions thus challenging the very of unity among diversity, for which the country is known across the globe.
“I wish to make an appeal, not just to the leaders on this stage, but to everyone who believes in secular values. Our Indian Union is facing a big threat from divisive forces. We all need to come together to defeat them and protect the founding principles of India,” he said, adding that the time is demanding that the opposition should get united to fight divisive forces in the country otherwise the policies of BJP to crush the opposition will ruin the country.
“Unity of opposition is a must for the country and only Dr Farooq Abdullah can bring all the opposition leaders on one platform to save the people from the divisive policies of the BJP”, Gupta said, adding that the divisive forces have a one point agenda to divide and rule like the case of British regime therefore it is the need of the time to counter this wrong by collective approach as otherwise the future of the country will be bleak.
The Provincial President said that the achievements of the BJP Government led by PM Modi are unprecedented inflation, record breaking unemployment, dwindling relations with neighbouring countries, crash landing of Rupee against the Dollar and many other adverse conditions therefore it is the time to counter this worthless dispensation by joining hands and all the like minded parties standing tall against the divisive and tyrant dispensation which has brought bad omen in the country whether it was corona time, conflict with China or construction of bridges and highways, which fall within a week’s time of their launch.
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial Secretary JKNC, asked the party activists to strengthen the hands of Farooq Abdullah by acting as the ambassadors of NC at the grassroots level. He said that the time of BJP is over and the next phase will be of NC which will come to power with full majority and usher in era of providing full rights and facilities to the people unlike the discriminatory regimes that ruined the state by creating differences among people on one pretext or other especially by paying religious cards.
Vijay Lochan Provincial President SC Cell, NC said that farmers are most affected under the present regime as the irrigation system has totally collapsed in Jammu province. He alleged that the farmers are not getting irrigation water timely for their fields and the seeds are also of poor quality besides the scenario with regard to provision of fertilizers is also dismal as the government is indifferent over these vital matters of the tiller community and is busy in rhetoric.
Those seeking compensation are also moving from pillar to post as there is no one to listen to their plight despite the drama of useless initiatives of B2V and central ministers’ visits to the region.
Prominent among those who were present in the convention include Pardeep Bali, Sham Narayan Mehta, Dharam Pal Kundal, Ashu Rajput, Balbir Singh, Subash Chander Azad, Amar Singh, Tirath Kumar and Krishan Lal.
