| BJP's sentimental politics wont yield: Bhalla | | | Early times report Jammu, Dec 20: Vehemently opposing Bhartia Janta Party for playing politics of sentiments, Congress leader and its contesting candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency, Raman Bhalla has said that the people of state were well aware of opportunistic tactics of BJP, which has always failed to turn its words into reality. Addressing series of public meetings across his constituency, Bhalla said that BJP was master in misleading the people in the name of religion and region, especially during the elections with a sole view to gain public support. Recalling the deeds of BJP during their reign in office at the centre, he said that they could do nothing to scrap Article 370 against which the party has been opposing vociferously all the way. Why couldn't BJP take a single step to abrogate the Article which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir state, he asked and cautioned the people against falling in their trap. He said that BJP had developed a habit of misleading the people through emotional slogans simply because of knowing the fact that it cannot motivate the people on other rational grounds for support. Reiterating that congress was committed for the security and safety not only for the state but for entire nation as a whole, he said that his party has worked for the welfare of nation since independence and would keep on doing so in future as well. Congress is committed to tackle terrorism across the country as it has done in the past even at the cost of its great leaders like Indra Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi. " None else than our party is committed to security and safety which can well be understood by the sacrifices of our great leaders like Indra Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi," he said and added that people must keep in mind the contribution of our party not only at state level but at national level as well and support it. |
