Cycling club inaugurated at Sainik school Nagrota

Jammu, Nov 13: As an initiative to promote the spirit of adventure and improve fitness of amongst the cadets of Sainik School Nagrota, Brig PK Sharma, Inspecting Officer, Sainik Schools Society New Delhi inaugurated Cycling Club by flagging off the Cycling Team of ten cadets and five staff from the School Stadium on 13 Nov 22 amid great excitement and thrill. The Club received ten Hercules Roadeo mountain bikes as a CSR initiative from State Bank of India, Jammu for the cadets.
Brig PK Sharma Inspecting Officer carried out Annual Inspection of the School on 12 Nov 22. An impressive Guard of Honour led by Cadet Alok Sengar, School Captain was presented to the visiting Officer at the Drill Square of the School in the morning. Capt (IN) AK Desai, Principal gave a pictorial brief of various activities and initiatives undertaken by the School post Covid Pandemic and also the achievements of the school in academic and sports events. Visiting classrooms, labs, library, training areas and hostels, the Inspecting Officer made keen observations and impressed on providing opportunities to cadets for a wholesome development of their personalities. He also witnessed an excellent display of School Band followed by a brief cultural program which included Decibel Orchestra, Group Song and Bhangra. The solo musical performance of Cadet Sativik Dutta received great applause and appreciation of the visiting dignitary. A formal Dinner Night was also organized in Cadets’ Mess in honour of the Inspecting Officer.
The Inspecting Officer expressed deep satisfaction on the overall performance of the school and pointed out areas which need focus like upgrading training facilities offered by the School, modernization of lab, and incorporating of the latest educational technology in classroom teaching etc.
