Zero-tolerance towards terrorism
11/14/2022 12:37:10 AM

The government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has adopted zero-tolerance policy towards terror and the terrorists.
The world too has acknowledged the efforts being put in by PM Modi led dispensation to curb terrorism. The Government of India is hosting the 3rd Ministerial ‘No Money for Terror’ (NMFT) conference this week in New Delhi where representatives of 75 countries and international bodies will participate in the deliberations over how to tackle the threat of terrorism prevailing in the world.
Hosting of the NMFT conference shows the importance being given by the Modi government to the issue of international terrorism as well as its zero tolerance policy against the menace.
The conference will focus on discussing the terrorism threat and the strategies that could be devised to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the world.
The NMFT conference should serve as an eye-opener for countries like Pakistan, which support terrorism and use terrorists as tools to bleed other countries.
India has been facing Pakistan sponsored terrorism for the past three decades in Jammu and Kashmir. Despite Pakistan losing the proxy war which it had launched 30-years ago it’s not ready to mend its ways.
The terrorism is a scourge and has turned into a monster. It needs to be tamed before it devours the entire world. The right thinking countries across the world have understood the dangers that the terrorists and the terrorism pose. They have joined hands to defeat the nefarious designs of the countries that have incorporated terrorism as a part of their state policy.
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a Paris based organization that monitors terror funding, had put Pakistan in its “Grey List” for 4-years. It recently removed Pakistan from the list. The ban imposed by FATF led to Pakistan getting plunged into a crisis. At present the country’s economy is in doldrums.
The FATF removing Pakistan from the “Grey List” has provided the neighbouring country with an opportunity to rebuild its economy. If it continues to support terrorists and terrorism there is every possibility about the country paying a heavy price for it. Ball is in the court of Pakistan, it needs to understand that world has joined hands to curb terrorism and it’s appreciating India for adopting zero-tolerance towards terrorism.
