Students induction programme held

JAMMU, Nov 15: Two week student induction programme for B.E- first year students for batch-2022 begins today at GCET Jammu. The program was organized under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Sameru Sharma, Principal GCET Jammu. The focus of the induction program is to assist new students to adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment. It will also aid them to boost their confidence, creativity, inventiveness, motivation to work for excellence, regulate time management, development of interpersonal relationships and leadership skill. On this occasion Principal GCET, encouraged students to fully participate in this programme which will be helpful for them in inculcating ethos and culture of the institution, to build bonds with other students and faculty members, and expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self exploration. Prof. (Dr) Anita Brar, Coordinator for Student induction program presented inaugural address wherein she highlighted the purpose of conducting this programme for holistic development and personality of the students for living a purposeful and constructive life. She also stated that the expert lectures by the eminent speakers will change their perception of life and made them as confident and self assertive individuals.
The program was followed by various lectures and interactive sessions by experts and eminent speakers from reputed institutes/ companies across the country on topics like 'Role of industry in Indian economy "by Dr. Rajni Sharma, Role of ethics in professional life" by Dr. Ramesh Chander and "National Educational Policy 2020" by Dr. Deepali Devi. In the afternoon session the lectures were delivered by Dr. Ajay Abrol on "Placement Scenario in present era" and Dr. Heera Saini on the topic "Importance of Mathematics in Engineering". The committe members present during the programme were Dr. Dina Nath, Dr. Raman Gupta, Dr. Heera Saini, Asstt. Prof. Altaf Ahmad, Dr. Rajinder Singh, Dr. Ambika Bhat, Er. Karan Kapoor, Er. Surinder Salathia, Er. Rajesh Mantoo and Er. Ajay Attri.
