| LeT Divn.Commander among 9 militants killed in JK | | Unidentified body recovered at Kangan | | Srinagar, September 16: Deputy Divisional Commander LeT is among nine militants killed during different encounters at Pulwama, Handwara and Noorabad Kulgam , while as one security personnel was injured. Meanwhile an unidentified body was recovered at Kangan and a security personnel was injured during an encounter at Pahalgam.
Reports reaching Srinagar indicate that troopers of 62 RR laid a siege around Narwani village in Shopian area during which Deputy Divisional Commander LeT Abu Mateen Billa R/O Pakistan got engaged into a heavy exchange of fire with the trooper. He was killed on spot.
One more LeT militant Abu Saad R/O Lahore Pakistan was, according to, Colonel Heemant kumar Jeenga, killed during an encounter with troopers of 9 RR at Nandimarg, Noorabad Kulgam last night. Colonel Jeenga also claimed that slain LeT militants was active in Ghool Udhampur area for quite some time and was holding the positions of Chief Administrator and Financial Controller for Jammu and Udhampur areas. Claiming that Abu Saad was the chief of Lashkar Madrassa in Pakistan, Colonel Jeenga claimed that he was killed while trying to cross over to the other side of Line of Control (LoC).
Reports also indicate that one militant was injured at Nadimarg Pulwama and he managed to fled from the spot, when a group of six militants got engaged into an encounter with sleuths of Ist RR .
Meanwhile troopers of 2 RR laid a siege around Chilapora Wadhipora Handwara on Saturday afternoon during which militants hiding inside the village got engaged into an encounter with troopers of 2 RR. Two unidentified militants were killed during the encounter, while as one trooper was injured.
Two militants of Hixzb-ul-Mujahideen militants outfit identified as Firdous Ahmed alias Muna S/O Noor mohd R/O Armulla and Shabir Ahmed Bhat alias Umer S/O Mohd Ahsan R/O Arihal Dangerpora were killed , when they got engaged into an encounter with troopers of 65 RR while trying to come out from the bathroom of the residential house of Ab Gaffar Wani S/O Ab Rahim during a crackdown at Wahipora Chakoora Pulwama at around 6.00 A.M Saturday.
Three unidentified militants were killed, when sleuths of 3 PARA and SOG launch a massive operation in Grotan Sarpathri forests in Noorabad area . The operation was continuing till last reports came in.
Three Hizb militants were trapped in Sarichan Batakote Pahalgam, when a siege was laid there by sleuths of 3 rr and SOG . One police personnel was injured and gunfight was continuing till last reports came in. However Hizb spokesman Junaid-ul-Islam claimed that militants pierced the cordon and fld from the besieged area, while two troopers were killed and one injured during the encounter. Police recovered an unidentified body from Satrana forests at Kangan. The reasons of the killing could not be ascertained. |
