JAMMU, DEC 20: Tanvi Verma of Govt P G College Udhampur, was adjudged first in the inter-collegiate/Departmental Poetry recitation contest organized by the department of students welfare university of Jammu under on going 2nd phase of 'Display your talent'
The second prize was shared by Suman from govt Degree college, Samba, Uvika from model Institute of engineering and technology and Rajni from Cosmic college of education, Lakhanpur.
Certificates of merit were awarded to Komal and Tania both from govt Women College Gandhi Nagar, Monika Katal from govt degree college, Samba and Ganga Sharma from post graduate department of Dogri university of Jammu.
Prof. Champa Sharma, Ramesh Mehta and Dr. Premi Romani were among the adjudicators. The judges really had a tough time in selecting the best talent as their was a tough competition among the participants. The young thirty eight participants from various P G Department of the University and its affiliated colleges recited self composed poems as well as the pieces of poetry of the reputed poets in Dogri, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and English.
Prof. Dhian S. Bhau, Dean Students, Welfare distributed prizes amongst the winners. Participating teams included Govt Degree college, Rajouri, GGM Science College, Morning and Evening, Govt. Women College, Gandhi Nagar, Shivalik College of Education, Udhampur, Govt. MAM College, Morning and Evening, govt Women College Parade, Women College, Udhampur, Samba Model Institute of Engineering and Technology, Model Institute of Education and Research, Govt Degree College, Akhnoor, Cosmic College of Education, Department of Education, Department of Dogri, Department of Political Sciences, Department of Psychology, The Business Schools, Department of Env. Science, The Law School, Department of Law and Department of English, University of Jammu.
