Stephens College organizes poem recitation competition

Jammu, Nov 15: State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) J&K, in its sixth event in this month, organised a Poem Recitation Competition on "Organ Donation" at Stephens College of Nursing Miran Sahib with participation of students of various Paramedical/ Nursing Colleges of the region. Poem Recitation was performed in Hindi and English to support the the nobel cause of Organ Donation.
Dr. Sanjeev Puri, Joint Director SOTTO expressed grief over the loss of lives every year due to organ failure and said that Organ donation is the noblest way of giving life to such terminally ill patients giving them a lease of life.
Prof. Munni Dhar, Principal, Stephens College of Nursing enlightened the audience about ancient concept of Organ Donation in India which has been mentioned in our scriptures.
Mr. Manoj Kotru, Administrator, Stephens College of Nursing motivated the students to work for making population pledge for Organ Donation. Sandeep Kour from Stephens College of Nursing, Miran Sahib secured first position, Iram from Govt.Nursing College, Gandhi Nagar secured second position and Kamini from Bee Enn Nursing Institute, Chak Bhalwal secured third position in Hindi Poem Recitation Competition.
Sarabjeet kour from Galaxy Paramedical College of Nursing Sainik Colony secured first position, Reetika Malhotra from SMVD college of Nursing, Katra secured second position and Angelina Burt from Stephens College of Nursing Miran Sahib secured third position in English Poem Recitation Competition. Prof. Kheema Peshin, Vice Principal, Stephens College of Nursing, Miran Sahib presented the vote of thanks.
The whole event was anchored and coordinated by Ms. Ritu Gupta, Associate Professor and Activity Incharge, Stephens College of Nursing, Miran Sahib.
