All India Cooperative Week celebrations held

REASI, Nov 16: As a part of the weeklong Celebration of 69th all India Cooperative Week that Commenced from 14th November, a grand and impressive district Level function was organized by Reasi Cooperative department in collaboration with Cooperative Societies/Cooperatives at Jerri Block Pouni themed "Mainstreaming Cooperative education, professional Management and Re-orienting training."
The function was sponsored by The Mahavira Mahila Dairy Cooperative Ltd. Jerri witnessed the participation of the Maharaja fruits and Vegetables growers and processing Cooperative and Nari Shakti Farmers producers Processing Cooperative Kheral.
The participating Cooperatives put up their stalls at the venue displaying different products/agriculture produce like Amla, Desi ghee, handmade buckets, handmade Bangles for exhibition.
The function was presided over by BDC Chairman, Pawan Banathia as Chief Guest and attended by the PRI members prominent Cooperative Citizens, members of Cooperative Institutions and general masses.
The speakers threw light on the achievements and the services of the Cooperative Societies in uplifting the Socio-economic condition of the poor masses. They also projected the problems being faced by them in their fields.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Banathia BDC Chairman said that the Cooperatives hold a significant place in view of the potential to address the problem of unemployment by undertaking gainful commercial activities.
Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Reasi, Adnan Rather also highlighted the achievements of the cooperative sector in the district. He informed that during the year 2022-23 the Cooperative department has registered 34 Cooperatives associated with trades like dairy, Poultry, honey, floriculture, food processing etc. He stressed upon the need to bring more and more people under the fold of the Cooperative especially the women, unemployed educated youth and weaker sections of the Society by registering new Cooperatives/FPOs.
Among others, the function was attended by ARs, Inspectors, and field functionaries besides other staff of the Cooperative department.
