EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, DEC 20: The independent candidate for Jammu West Constituency Ashok Kumar Sharma today said hat the constituency has remained neglected in all spheres of development over the years and severely lacks in basic infrastructure. Sharma who was addressing election meetings at Subash Nagar, Surya Vihar, Bakshi Nagar, New Plot, Paloura, Rehari said the areas are especially in-habited by economically weaker section of the society and have remained completely neglected and did not get any benefit, even centrally sponsored schemes for ameliorating in their socio-economic conditions. He said despite the constituency is a commercial hub, many areas still even do not have basic facilities like Post offices, banks, health and medical institutions, parks, parking lots, play fields, walkways, adequate drinking and water supply, lanes and drains. Sharma said that he would get formulated a comprehensive plan for integrated development of the constituency on model lies by devo-tailing all the resources available under state, central, world bank funding. If elected, he would introduce bill in the legislative assembly to make mandatory for the govt to provide houses, to all the house less and poor people in the state with cent percent funding by the govt, he added. |
