11/16/2022 10:33:58 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Nov 16: A labourer from Nepal, who was injured in a militant attack in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir earlier this month succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday evening at a Srinagar hospital, officials said.
On November 3 evening, militants shot at and grievously injured two migrant workers “one Bekuu Ram from Bihar and Tej Bahadur from Nepal“ inside the Sabir Abdullah Public School (SAPS) at Bondialgam neighbourhood in Anantnag.
Initial investigation by the police had revealed that both labourers were called by militants to come out to engage in a work. The moment they came out, they fired upon them with a pistol.
“Both the injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment and Tej Bahadur was shifted to SKIMS Srinagar for advanced treatment,” an official said. “He, however, succumbed to his injuries Tuesday evening in the hospital.”
Militants this year have carried out a series of attacks on the non local workers and also the members of the minority community.
In the last one year, seven non- local workers have been killed by the militants while over a dozen have been injured. In addition, militants have killed three Kashmiri Hindus and two non Muslims so far this year.
Meanwhile, the body of a non-local labourer was found at Soura on Srinagar outskirts on Tuesday evening.
Police said prima facie it seems unnatural death.
Police said an inquest proceedings has been initiated under Section 174 of the CrPC and the body was sent for a postmortem examination.
